Resources

CSUB Religious Holidays Calendar

  • The CSUB community includes diverse backgrounds and understandings. We recognize the need for increasing awareness and knowledge of various cultural observances on campus as we follow through with our meaningful commitment to engaged reflection on diversity, equity, and inclusion. This calendar is the combined effort of students, faculty, and staff and is designed for informational purposes to guide our community’s efforts to respect each other’s deeply held religious beliefs and practices. Following CSUB policy, all members of our community are encouraged to be thoughtful about scheduling events such as guest lectures, meetings, symposiums, etc. on major religious holidays.

Philosophy and Religious Studies

  • In both Philosophy and Religious Studies, students learn to grapple with the great questions of human existence, explore the world’s various systems of belief, and examine their own values. As a result, students develop valuable skills in critical thinking, reading, and writing, and they learn how to use these skills to solve real-world problems.CSUB offers a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Philosophy and a B.A. in Religious Studies.

Counseling Center

  • The Counseling Center provides counseling and consultation services to undergraduate and graduate students who are enrolled in the university. The Center offers short-term counseling to help students with personal, academic, and career concerns. The primary goal of counseling is to help students develop the personal awareness and skills necessary to overcome problems and to grow and develop in ways that will allow them to take advantage of the educational opportunities at the university.
